This album of photos has been divided into four parts the first called "Venus"; which includes the pictures below. To give credit to the people that were a part of this shoot are my friends, Parmida Dian who was the model, the stylist Paolina Alexandra Russo of Calur Villade calurvillade.blogspot.com and myself as the photographer. I took these photos with my Nikon D7000, and Parmida and I both edited them. This photo shoot, as you can see in the photo's below was done near bull dozers, cranes etc which gave this hard and cold vibe (no pun intended because it was actually freezing, thanks canada) and the model portrayed a much softer and almost whimsical character. I really liked the concept of "hard vs. soft", cliche I know, but I tried to conceptualize the idea in my own way.

      Welcome to Part 1: Venus

This look to me portrayed almost if Vivian Westwood had a lovechild with Sonia Rykiel ( impossible, I know but let's just imagine) she would look somewhat like this and dress this way too. When I see these pictures I love the repetition and patterns in the concept because it carries you eyes in certain ways. This may be just my head talking but every time I take a look at "Venus" I seem to be shocked at the boldness of the scenery and suddenly swayed at the romantic warrior-esque girl.

This is the first of many shoots you will see here, but keep letting me know your opinions, things I could change, words of advice and things you would like to see me play around with. The last thing this is, is perfect so all ears are open.

Echoes,

Sahil Babbar

Closeted, No more.

If there is in fact anyone reading these words then congratulations if not, I'll still continue. I have been down lately with how fast people around me seem to progress and as tacky and cliche as it sounds "climbing the ladder of success", forgive me for saying that. Being a grade eleven underachiever I decided that it's about time shit got serious. I'm serious. Really. I'm an aspiring photographer, writer, painter, either way I hope to live my life by studying and producing art. I have recently... came out of the closet. No, not that way but before a while ago I was under the regular parental influence, become a doctor! Art ? ... i could never get a real job in that field. Enough is enough and I told my parents straight up. No is a no.

Now over with depressing topics, as a part of university application to the worlds major art schools ( all 1 follower, cross your fingers I need all the luck I can get), I did a photo shoot with a couple of my friends. I can't wait to show you guy(s) the photos. The concept was playing on hard vs. soft and inspiration was the new hippie grunge, and mod 60's. Here below is the inspiration for the clothes and hair. All provided by either vogue.com and/or harpersbazaar.com.

<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; I hope you don’t find me mundane and repetitive, but more so peculiar and ecstatic.

   Happy New Years &

   Welcome to ECHOES of NARCISSUS.

A painting by Caravaggio of Narcissus.

Echoes,
Sahil Babbar

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://echoesofnarcissus.blogspot.com/2011/12/birth-i.html' title='Birth.
